Diva Dish: Itsy-bitsy bikini time

Memorial Day marks the unofficial kickoff to the summer, which means it’s bikini time for the Divas. So pack up those beach bags and slather on the suntan oil for some hot fun with the Sexiest Women on Television. Suit up with Brooke, Kelly Kelly, Mickie James, Ashley, Kristal, Michelle McCool, Maria and Jillian. Then, it’s playtime with Candice Michelle.

Bathing beauties
When it comes to suiting up for the sun and surf, it’s inevitable the WWE Divas are going to look sexy. From itsy-bitsy to boy short-chic to fabulous ’50s-style, WWE’s hottest females dare to bare some skin when they hit the beach.

ECW’s Brooke told Diva Dish she hasn’t been bathing suit shopping in quite a while. Before becoming a Diva, she was a bikini model, and that’s when she learned how to sew her own suits. She often found herself wearing the same bikinis as other competitive models, so to stand out even more, the inventive Diva created her own pieces.

“I actually sew them and design them myself. I go for stuff that’s totally off-the-wall – different fabrics, lots of rhinestones, very, very flashy,” Brooke said. “But I never wear a one-piece. I think maybe the last time I did, I was a lifeguard!”

Brooke said her creations aren’t always more revealing, but might highlight a certain area worth showing off.

“I may make a design that shows more of the butt, or a smaller triangle top on top, or a boy short that’s really cute with lace down the sides or something – it really all depends on what it’s for,” she said.

Brooke’s Extreme Exposé dance partner, Kelly Kelly, said there’s no place like home, where it’s bikini season all year long.

“I’m a big bikini-buyer. I love bikinis. I love living in Florida because it’s always nice and sunny year-round,” Kelly Kelly said.

The ECW Diva and former bikini model said she shops at Suits You in Tampa, Fla., because their custom suits are her favorite.

“I love their bikinis. They’re really little, but they’re cute. They cover the right areas. I love when they have little diamonds on them. I love shiny, I love sparkly – I just love all of them,” she said.

When we reminded Raw’s Mickie James it’s almost time to hit the beach, she joked that it must mean it’s time to shop.

“I’ve got to go bikini shopping, because I only have 10 of them, so I need more,” she laughed. “I like two-pieces, but one-pieces can be sexy, though, if they’re made right. The Speedo one-piece is not so sexy!”

Ashley told Diva Dish she owns many bikinis, because she’s worn them several times on SmackDown. More recently, the Diva has been into fabulous, funky, ’50s-style suits.

“They’re ’50s-style, one-piece, old school bathing suits that are kind of longer. They cover a little bit more, but they’re really, really cool-looking,” Ashley said.

“I’m obsessed with ’50s culture – I just absolutely love it. I think it would be cool to do a retro photo shoot, so I’m going to do a shoot for WWE.com of all the ’50s bathing suits I’ve accumulated,” she revealed.

Kristal said some one-pieces are sexy, such as halter tops or suits with cut-outs. The SmackDown Diva prefers solids over overwhelming prints, and says she rarely swims in her suits – she saves them for lounging by the pool or on the beach. But leave that thong at home.

“I think thongs are tacky!” Kristal said. “I prefer Brazilian-cut bikinis because they cover just enough, but reveal just enough. It’s a good tease.”

Michelle McCool said she has a “ridiculous” amount of swimsuits, but she always wears the same one or two bikinis. She, too, doesn’t like prints or stripes, and prefers sticking to a simple, black or navy two-piece. For the SmackDown Diva, she’s all about feeling comfortable.

“The bathing suit selection process can be really tough for us girls. You have to find something that flatters your body and you’re comfortable in. When a woman’s comfortable in her own skin, I think that’s the sexiest thing,” Michelle said.

Maria competed in bikini contests before becoming a WWE Diva, so she has plenty of bathing suits in her closet. She said finding a suit that fits well is key.

“It could be little boyshorts and a tube top. It needs to make the booty look good and the boobs look right. It has to be tight, but not too tight – you don’t want it cutting anywhere it’s shouldn’t,” she said.

As for colors, Raw’s fashionista Diva goes for bold and beautiful.

“My colors are gold, orange, yellow, green – vibrant colors. I can’t do pale colors as much. Vibrant colors look a lot better on me,” Maria said. “Other than that, I love a good triangle top and some Brazilian bottoms – that’s probably the best fit on me.”

Jillian said buying a hot swimsuit is simple – if it looks good, she’ll wear it. The only requirement is that it must be a two-piece.

“I would never wear a one-piece – those look awful on me and most people. I like a two-piece, with lots of boobage. For me, it’s all about the boobage,” the SmackDown Diva said. “No specific color – I’m pretty hot in everything, actually.

Doll babyWhile Candice Michelle’s in-ring feud with Melina heats up on Raw, Candice’s brand new, debut action figure is about to spice up WWE collectors lives everywhere. Candice is ecstatic, but she said it’s a strange feeling knowing there’s a six-inch doll being made in her beautiful likeness.
“When I bought it, it felt so surreal. It’s just such a great feeling. I played with dolls when I was little, so to have one out is really cool,” Candice said.
She posed for the creators of the action figure, and took test shots before seeing the final product.
“It totally resembles me – it has my robe, there are some little rhinestones on the boots and the eyelashes – I needed my big, false eyelashes on there!”
Candice said she’s keeping her action figure in her home office, where she displays many of her WWE memories and collectibles.
“Over the years I’ve been collecting things. I have everything from when we went to Iraq. I have the medals we got framed. I put everything up to remember my journey as I go along. So I have my action figure up in the office right now,” she smiled.
“It’s something I’m going to want to share with my grandchildren and my babies when I have them in years to come.”
